A flight simulator built by pilots, for everyone
X-Plane 12 is the world’s most comprehensive and powerful flight simulator for personal computers, and it offers the most realistic flight model available. X-Plane is not a game, but an engineering tool that can be used to predict the flying qualities of fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft with incredible accuracy. X-Plane includes 19 aircraft in the default installation, spanning the aviation industry and its history. The full scenery package covers the Earth in stunning resolution from 74° north to 60° south latitude and includes over 34,000 airports.
Everything in X-Plane operates from real-world physics. Aircraft handling, ground effect, wind gusts, and more will give you the most accurate flight sim experience possible.
Detailed World and Atmosphere
As you explore the X-Plane world, the weather, water, light, 3-D forests, and everything around you add to the immersion.
Analyze and Refine Your Flying

X-Plane 12 is simply AMAZING!!!
Frank White , 12 January 2026
X-Plane is amazing. It's hard to believe that a small group of developers are able to produce a flight sim that rivals the hundreds of developers working on the other sim. X-Plane offers features, that have yet to be offered by other simulators, especially when it comes to weather and flight dynamics. This FAA certifiable simulator is no game, it's serious business for serious simmers. Graphics... X-Plane weak point was graphics. The pivotal word is "was". It's graphics engine is slowly coming into it's own. Graphically, X-Plane 12 runs circles around it's predecessor, X-Plane 11. With every iteration, every update, every release, it's closing the gap between it and the realisim of the other sim. X-Plane, by Laminar Research, is the best thing going for serious flight simulation, in my opinion.
